Considerable discussion on two agenda items took up the majority of the Wayne City Council meeting on Monday.
These included discussion on how to proceed with replacing lead service lines that have been found during the Wayne Water Distribution System project.
Casey Junck, Water/Wastewater Superintendent, asked for direction from the council on determining who will pay for this, as it was not part of the original contract for the water distribution system improvement project.
Ordinance 2026-10 received second reading approval and the third reading waived.
It allows for the sale of property to Jim and Dawn Casey located along East Highway 35 near the Sports Club Motel.
Approval was also given to move forward with resurfacing three of the fields at the Wayne Sports Complex.
Brief updates were given on two recent open house events in Wayne. The first of these involved the property at 1100 East 10th Street on Oct. 26 and the second involved the Downtown Improvement and Safety Committee (DISC) on Oct. 27.
The Wayne City Council will next meet in regular session on Monday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers.
