At the regular meeting of the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education on Feb. 12, Mr. Russ Plager was approved as the next High School Principal for the 2024-25 school year.
Mr. Plager will take over for the current Principal Mr. Tucker Hight, who is leaving the district after five years as High School Principal, and 13 years overall at Wayne.
Currently Mr. Plager is serving as the Elementary Principal at Wayne Elementary, a role in which he has served for the past nine school years. Prior to Mr. Plager coming to Wayne in 2015, he served in several roles in the Lincoln Public Schools in both elementary and middle level positions, and served as the Head Football Coach at Wayne High School from 2017-2021.
