Wayne Dolphins close season with home East Husker conference meet

Following an 11-day break from competition in the pool, the Wayne Dolphin Swim Team concluded their season with the East Husker Conference meet.

From the Wayne Aquatic Center on July 18, Wayne was five points off from a runner-up finish totaling 305 points (North Bend - second with 310).

Hartington stole the show with 453 combined points among the nine teams in action.

Leading the way for the Wayne Dolphins were Emily Gilliland (15F) with 42 points followed by Lennox Smith (11F) scoring 36.5 points. Top male scoring came from Benjamin Patefield (14M) with 18 points followed by Jack Engebretsen (8M) totaling 15 points.

Gilliland captured first in the 50m breaststroke (40.11), 50m freestyle (30.6) and 100m individual medley (1:17.68). 

Other EHC conference champs were Kamdyn Parker (8UF) in the 25m butterfly (26.54) and Alyssa Bargholz (13-14F) in the 100m individual medley (1:24.72).
