A rescheduled game from early in the season took over Tuesday night for the Wayne High girls and boys basketball teams.
From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gymnasium, the Blue Devils welcomed Wahoo.
The Wayne girls lost 50-31 while the Blue Devil boys suffered a 64-48 loss against the visiting Warriors.
In the girls game, Wahoo led 14-13 after the opening quarter and extended their lead thanks to a 15-7 second quarter to go up 29-20 at half. The Warriors outscored Wayne, 16-2 in the third while Wayne won the fourth, 9-5. Final favored Wahoo winning 50-31 improving to 13-9 as Wayne dropped their third straight falling to 10-13.
Wayne High was led in scoring by junior Haley Kramer with 13 points as sophomore Addison Frank added six points.
Other scoring came from junior Reagan McGuire with five points, junior Elle Powicki tallied three points as sophomore Alexis Legler and junior Claire Lutter both tacked on two points.
The Blue Devils shot 6-12 from the foul line.
Wahoo leaders were Claire Emerson with 13 points as Addy Hancock added 11 points.
In the boys outing, both teams scored 18 first quarter points as Wayne used a 15-11 second quarter advantage to lead 33-29 at the break. Wahoo then outscored the Blue Devils, 20-11 and 15-4 in the fourth. Final favored Wahoo winning 64-48 to improve to 17-3 winning their 11th straight as the Blue Devils dropped back-to-back falling to 18-4.
Wayne High was led in scoring by senior Colson Nelsen with 14 points on four made threes, senior Gavin Redden added 13 points as sophomore Jaxson Kneifl followed with 12 points on four made threes.
Other scoring came from junior Brodey Munter with six points as junior Drew Reinhardt tallied three points.
The Blue Devils shot 2-3 from the foul line.
Wahoo leaders were Dylan Simons with 19 points, Cody Hesser added 12 points as Kip Brigham added 11 points.
