The Wayne High golfers finished eighth and the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge golfers placed ninth out of 14 teams at Thursday’s Metteer Invitational at the Wayne Country Club.
The Blue Devils shot a 447 and had one medalist as Megan Keiser finished 17th with a 100. Hana Nelsen followed with a 108, followed by Liz Junck (115), Natalie Bentjen (124) and Kecia Schenk (124). Taylor French also shot a 120 as a JV golfer.
For LCC, Nicole Hanson led the way with a 94 and finished fifth on the day. Brooke Young added a 108, followed by Jadyn Kinkaid (128) and Glenda Vance (137).
Pierce edged Norfolk Catholic 398-402 for the team title, while O’Neill was third with a 410. Cassidy Ulrich of Hartington Cedar Catholic shot an 88 to edge Sidney Erickson of Pierce by one stroke.
Both Wayne and LCC will be in Laurel on Saturday for the LCC Invitational.
