Wayne falls at Battle Creek

A second road match concluded the regular season for Wayne High volleyball.

From Battle Creek, the Blue Devils competed with Mid State Conference foe Battle Creek on Thursday.

Wayne High was unable to hold onto a first set lead as Battle Creek picked up a four-set victory to improve to 21-6 on the season. Wayne dropped to 13-14.

Scores of the match favored the Bravettes 23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-21.

Sophomore Mallory Redden posted a double-double with 34 assists and 21 digs to go along with three kills as junior Haley Kramer recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs along with a block. Junior Elle Powicki followed with 11 kills, eight digs and three blocks as other double figure dig leaders were sophomore Addison Frank with 18 and sophomore Naomi Lipp with 11 (four kills/four blocks).

Sophomore Alexis Legler added four kills, one dig and two blocks as senior Amelia Legler tallied three kills, three digs and six blocks. Other digs came from junior Jacen Hasemann (four) and freshman Kamden Dobbins (one).

Amelia Legler and Redden both finished with two service aces as Kramer and Frank each had an ace.
