Wayne firefighters respond to combine fire

Wayne Volunteer firefighters responded to combine fire just before 3 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 2).

The combine was in a field six miles south of Wayne and three miles west.

According to Wayne Fire Chief Phil Monahan, the combine was totally engulfed in flames and was deemed a total loss. He estimates less than an acre of corn was destroyed by the blaze.
