Wayne gets top seed for subdistrict

The Nebraska School Activities Association announced pairings Thursday for next week’s subdistrict volleyball tournaments across the state.
Wayne will be the top seed for the C1-7 subdistrict at Norfolk High School and will face either Norfolk Catholic or Madison in a 7:30 p.m. game. The winner will face either Pierce or Boone Centra/Newman Grove in the subdistrict championship on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Subdistrict winners will move on to the district finals. Class D district finals are Thursday and the Class C district finals are set for Saturday. Times and locations will be announced later.
Subdistrict pairings involving area schools are as follows (seeds in parenthesis):
C1-7 at Norfolk High
Monday –
(4) Norfolk Catholic vs. (5) Madison, 5 p.m.; (2) Pierce vs. (3) Boone Central/Newman Grove, 6:15 p.m.; (1) Wayne vs. NC-Madison winner, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday – Final, 7 p.m.
C2-4 at Wayne High
Monday –
(4) Wakefield vs. (5) Omaha Nation, 5 p.m.; (2) BRLD vs. (3) Homer, 6:15 p.m.; (1) Ponca vs. Wakefield-ON winner, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday – Final, 7 p.m.
C2-5 at Randolph
Monday –
(4) LCC vs. (5) Plainview, 5 p.m.; (2) Hartington CC vs. (3) Hartington-Newcastle, 6:30 p.m.; (1) Crofton vs. LCC-Plainview winner, 8 p.m. Tuesday – Final, 7 p.m.
D2-3 at Ponca
