Wayne girls begin bowling season at 3-0, boys are 2-1

Season opening bowling for Wayne High varsity members took over two locations over the past six days.

The Blue Devils traveled to King's Lanes in Norfolk for a road dual at Norfolk Catholic/Lutheran High Northeast on Dec. 4 before visiting Columbus on Dec. 9 for a double dual with Lexington and Lincoln High.

During day one, the Wayne girls won 17-4 while the Blue Devil boys won 18-3 in Norfolk.

Top scoring came from Madi Korth (135/119) and McKaeya Becker (team-best 172/137) were both 2-0 on the night.

Dylan Jensen (213/200) and Blake Smith (175/team-best 244) were both 2-0 for the Wayne boys.

During the double dual, the Wayne High girls won 19.5-1.5 against Lincoln High and 14-7 over Lexington.

Top wins against Lincoln High were posted by Regan Fernau (159), Graycen Trautman (149/143), Marie Allemann (139), Allemann / Avery Gubbels (142), Madi Korth / Gracyn Johnson (115/146) and McKaeya Becker (135).

Top wins over Lexington came from Trautman (team-best 205/116), Becker (167), Becker / Sophia Petersen (138), Madi Korth (163), Allemann  (153), Allemann / Sophia Petersen (139) and Fernau / Johnson (116).

During boys action, Wayne first shutout Lincoln High 21-0 followed by a 12.5-8.5 loss to Lexington.

Top wins over Lincoln High were posted by Dylan Jensen (team-best 253/210), Aiden Petersen (221/248), Ben Haschke (188/184), Konnor Kai / Dreu Jensen (169/156) and Blake Smith / Kash Haase (165/163).

Top wins against Lexington came from  Petersen (223), Smith (204), Zane Sievers (178), Dylan Jensen / Haschke (176) and Haschke (190).

Next up for Wayne High bowling will be the Boone Central Tournament (Norfolk) on Dec. 13 at 9 a.m. and at Lakeview (Columbus) for a dual on Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.
