Wayne girls drop third straight, Blue Devil boys move to 5-0

From O'Neill, the Wayne High girls played their third straight while the Blue Devil boys were in action on back-to-back nights.

The Wayne girls suffered a 48-40 loss while the Blue Devil boys won 44-31.

In the girls game, Wayne held the early 17-11 after the first quarter followed by a 9-2 scoring clip for O'Neill in the second to go up 20-19. The Eagles continued their scoring ways in the third, 13-9 and fourth 15-12. Final favored O'Neill winning 48-40 to improve to 3-4 as the Blue Devils dropped their third straight falling to 2-4.

During the boys outing, Wayne led 14-11 after the opening quarter and also edged O'Neill in the second, 8-7 to go up 22-18 at the break. The Blue Devils then outscored the host Eagles, 12-10 in the third and 10-4 in the fourth. Final favored Wayne High winning 44-31 to improve to 5-0 start as O'Neill fell to 2-4.
