With a fourth home outing on the Wayne High girls golf schedule for Thursday morning, the Blue Devils recently traveled to the Boone Central Invite and hosted a triangular.
From the Albion Country Club, Wayne High shot a 395 (season-best) to place fourth among the 12 varsity and JV teams on Sept. 20.
Head Blue Devil girls golf coach Josh Johnson said, "I am really happy with how the girls continue to get better each meet. They are really starting to take the things we work on in practice and implement them into their game. It looks like it will be a fun last few weeks of the season."
The Blue Devils were led by Carli Canham with an 84 to place third while Hallie Heithold took seventh with a 94.
Other Blue Devil results came from Rylynn Owen (108) and Claire Reinke (109).
West Holt won the Boone Central Invite with a 359 while Daleni Knust (West Holt) shot a one-over par 77 to be crowned first place among the field of 57 golfers.
Also on Sept. 18, Wayne welcomed Pierce and Cedar Catholic for a home triangular at the Wayne Country Club.
In near perfect weather conditions and fast greens, the host Blue Devils went on to win the triangular shooting a team score of 206 followed by Pierce with a 214.
Cedar Catholic did not have a team score.
Pierce's Rylee Altwine won the triangular shooting a 42.
Wayne was led by Canham carding a 45 while Heithold followed with a 47.
Other Wayne results were posted by Owen (56), Reinke (58), Avery Gubbels (75), Gracyn Johnson (80) and Damaris Reyes Esparza (99).
Up next for Wayne High will be Richard Metteer Invite at the Wayne Country Club on Sept. 25 while also traveling to CedarView Country Club for the LCC Invite on Sept. 27 and the Cedar Catholic Invite at the Hartington Country Club on Sept. 29. All invites will start at 9 a.m.
