A second straight night of competition allowed the Wayne High girls and boys wrestling teams to take part in their first invite of the season.
One day after winning their duals during a home triangular, Wayne High showcased their talent amongst the 10 girls and 13 boys teams for the 2024 Lakeview Invite in Columbus.
The Wayne High girls posted a runner-up team finish with 132 points from their 16 wrestlers while the Blue Devil boys took sixth with 97.5 points among their 19 wrestles.
In the girls division, Lakeview won their home invite with 159.5 points, Wayne followed in runner-up (132), Raymond Central took third (80.5), Elkhorn Valley placed fourth (77.5) and Arlington rounded out the top five teams with 72 points.
First place results were posted by Yessenia Alba (110), Nyla Bolles (135) and Ivette Ozuna (145) while Essynce Owens-Webb (100), Gracelynn Daniels (125), Alexa Chavez (140), Anna Naeve (155) and Janelly Lucas (235) all placed runner-up.
Jasmine Contreras (235) followed in third as Andrea Bacilio (100), Lupita Alba (105), Hannah Burris (120) and Kayleigh Graybeal (140) all finished fourth. Megan Magnuson (130) took fifth.
Edmy Balux (115) and Serenity Heil-Ellis (130) were also in action.
During the boys division, Ashland-Greenwood won the Lakeview Invite with 162.5 points, Scotus Central Catholic followed in second (134), Raymond Central took third (123), Shelby-Rising City placed fourth (115) and the host Lakeview rounded out the top five teams with 101.5 points.
Wayne High was led by Grant Maas (150) in first followed by Emmanuel Gonzalez (106) and Noah Magnuson (132) both in second as a third place result came from Will Leseberg (126).
Grady Maas (113) and Alan Ramirez Salas (215) both took sixth.
Thomas Raymundo (126), Hunter Foote (138), Ty Zach (144), Samuel Leseberg (157), Jordan Sanchez (165), Jaime Ramirez Salas (190) and Maddox Ziska (285) were all in action.
In JV action, Trecyn Ocampo (132) finished runner-up, Cameron Hays (126) placed third, Tate Holz (132) followed in fourth, Julian Garcia Morales (132) and Daevin Casarrubia (144) both took fifth as Weston Patefield (138) was also in action.
The Wayne High girls and boys wrestlers will next host Norfolk Catholic in dual action on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
