Week nine of the fall sports season continues for Wayne, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Winside, Wakefield and Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) as well as additional Wayne State College sporting events during the week of October 20.
NSAA State Cross Country will take place at the Kearney Country Club on Oct. 24.
Both Wayne High girls and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls qualified their entire team while three Wayne boys, one LCC boy, a Tri County Northeast boy and girl as well as a Winside girl will run on the state course.
Class D girls will open the afternoon at noon. LCC girls team of senior Kate Tasler, senior Addison Hoeppner, sophomore Leah Gould, junior Faith Galvin and sophomore Ava Christiansen will be represented along with freshman Avery Brummels from Winside and senior Alejandra Hermosillo from Tri County Northeast.
Class C girls will follow at 12:30 p.m. showcasing the Wayne High girls team of freshman Tayla Hurner, freshman Elizabeth Hix, sophomore Mariana Nexticapan Hernandez, senior Kennasyn Blecke, senior Lilyan Hurner and senior Josie Ley.
Class D boys will compete at 1 p.m. featuring senior Shane Langford from Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and junior Jude Ridenour from Tri County Northeast.
Class C boys will run around 1:30 p.m. with Wayne boys members of juniors Emmanuel Gonzalez, Camden Hall and Landen Claussen in action.
