High school football came to an end for Wayne High, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball competed in their conference finals, Winside volleyball concluded their regular season, #6 Wayne State College volleyball began road action as the Wayne State College women's soccer team was back on their home turf all on Oct. 24.
From Columbus, the Wayne High football team concluded 2025 with a 55-12 loss at Scotus Central Catholic.
The Blue Devils finished the season at 1-8 dropping six straight to end the year.
From Atkinson, the Greater Northeast Activities Conference volleyball tournament showcased #1 LCC vs. #3 West Holt in the finals. LCC won in straight sets over West Holt (25-20, 25-16, 25-22).
The Bears (28-3) will next prepare for the Class C2-6 Subdistrict as the #2 seed played in Oakland. LCC will await the winner of either #3 Elkhorn Valley or #6 Walthill at 6 p.m. on Oct. 28.
From Lyons, the Winside volleyball team secured a four-set win at Lyons-Decatur Northeast (25-19, 10-25, 25-18, 25-14).
The Wildcats (13-13) are off until the Class D2-3 Subdistrict being played in Wynot. #2 Winside will open postseason play against #3 Wausa at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 27.
From Bemidji, Minnesota, #6 Wayne State College picked up a 3-0 sweep at Bemidji State University (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) winning their sixth straight.
The Wildcats (19-3/12-1 NSIC) will be right back in action on Saturday at #18 Minnesota Duluth at 4 p.m.
