NSAA eight-man high school football teams closed out their regular season of Winside, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Wakefield and Tri County Northeast; Wayne High football opened back-to-back on the road as the Wayne State College women's soccer team was on their home pitch all on Oct. 17.
From Schuyler, Wayne High suffered a 23-22 loss against the host Warriors on the final play of the game.
The Blue Devils (1-7) will close out their regular season on Friday, Oct. 24 at Scotus in Columbus. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
From Winside, the host Wildcats closed out their regular season with a 32-20 victory over Randolph.
Winside (5-3) will await their seeding for the Class D2 first round of the NSAA Playoffs set to open on Thursday, Oct. 23.
From Stanton, LCC suffered a 68-12 loss at the host Mustangs.
The Bears fall to 2-6 to end the regular season.
From Wakefield, the host Trojans picked up a 40-14 win over Homer to snap their 24-game losing streak dating back to October 7, 2022 (59-41 W vs. Homer).
Wakefield ends their season at 1-7.
From Allen, Tri County Northeast dropped a 54-20 decision against GACC.
The Wolfpack close their season at 1-7.
From the WSC Soccer Pitch, the Wildcat women's soccer team used three second half goals to go onto win 4-0 against Southwest Minnesota State. WSC snapped a three game losing streak and captured their first win since Sept. 28.
Wayne State College (5-3-4/4-2-2 NSIC) will return to the pitch at Sioux Falls on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.
