Following a road triangular victory earlier in the week, the Wayne High girls golf program went back to invitational play.

From the Albion Country Club, the Blue Devils participated among the 11-team Boone Central Invite on Saturday.

Wayne High shot a 381 to finish third on the PAR 76 course.

Head Wayne High girls golf coach said, “I was really happy how the girls played today (Saturday). I believe the girls are playing really well right now. Sometimes the scores don’t always show the whole story but I think with a few adjustments here and there, and look out. We just need to remember to move on from the last shot, focus on the next shot, and have some fun.”

Columbus Scotus won the Boone Central Invite with a 367 followed by West Holt (378) in runner-up.

WHS was led by individual champion Joslyn Johnson with a 79 which included a nine-hole 35, three-under par. Charli Sievers also placed seventh with a 93.

Other Blue Devil results came from Lindsay Niemann (104), Hallie Heithold (105) and Rylynn Owen (117).
