Wayne High Power Drive team begins new season

The Wayne High School Power Drive team traveled to Motorsports Park Hastings in Hastings to start off the 2026 EVERON Power Drive race season.

In Standard class, the S95 began the race being driven by Wyatt Hawkins switching between second and third place.  Halfway through the race the S95 came to the pits for a driver change and Abby Allvin took the controls and was back on the track. S95 won the race with 26 laps and a 1 mile lead over 2nd place.

In Exhibition class, the E107, driven by Allan Brenner, took an early lead; while the E39, driven by Josh Doring, and the E22, driven by Tyler Johnson, were in third and fourth place. 

All cars came to the pits between the 20 and 40 minute mark where the E22 changed drivers and Mason Blickenstaff took control. 

 E107 finished in fourth place with 22 laps, E22 finished second with 29 laps, and the E39 finished in first place with 31 laps.

The next race for Wayne is at the UNL Tractor Test Facility in Lincoln on Saturday, April 18.
