Wayne Junior High boys wrestling closed out their season this past weekend with one final invite.
From Schuyler, the Wayne seventh and eighth graders competed at the Schuyler Middle School Invite with five wrestlers.
Among the 14 teams in action, the Wayne JH boys wrestling team accumulated 11 points.
Seward Middle School brought 35 wrestlers to capture the first place team finish with 251 points followed by Columbus Middle School with 249.5 points and their 32 wrestlers. Norfolk JH placed third (49/248 pts), Schuyler Middle School took fourth (26/149.5 pts) and Aquinas Catholic JH rounded out the top five teams with 122 pts (12 wrestlers).
Blake Heithold (90) recorded six points as Isaiah Zarate (120) followed with five points for Wayne JH.
Tyler Daniels (90), Angel Lux (105) and Gerson Torres (120) were also in action.
The Wayne Junior High girls wrestling season will open on Jan. 18.
