Following a home Tuesday doubleheader, the Wayne Junior High boys basketball teams were back on their home court Thursday night.
From the Wayne Elementary, the Blue Devil seventh and eighth graders entertained Clarkson-Leigh Junior High.
The Wayne eighth graders won 49-33 while the Blue Devil seventh graders won 45-32.
In the eighth grade victory, the Blue Devils used a 20-point third quarter to build a 26-point lead going into the final frame.
Jacob Francis led the scoring effort with 15 points followed by Mason Kramer with 12 points. Other scoring came from Colston Starzl (eight), Rhys Hanish and Cash Tilli (four each) as well as Liam Rockhill and Brayden Stegemann (three each).
A combination of seventh and eighth graders also played in a two quarter exhibition game against Clarkson-Leigh where Wayne won 12-1. Six players (Easton Gamble, Logan Walling, Jacob Fehringer, Dreu Jensen, Joshua Carillo and Rhys Hanish) each scored two points for the Blue Devils.
During the seventh grade win, all eleven players had valuable minutes.
Hudson Willrich crushed his season high scoring having 15 points from a barrage of threes, Louie Seversen followed with 15 points as Mason Wendte added 13 points.
Other scoring came from Merrick Miller and Easton Nolte with a free throw a piece.
