From Wayne, the Blue Devil seventh and eighth graders hosted Pierce on Saturday.
The Wayne eighth graders suffered a 32-16 loss while the Blue Devil seventh graders dropped a 43-37 decision to the visiting Bluejays.
In the eighth grade loss, the Blue Devils struggled to get anything going offensively trailing 7-3 after the first quarter and then 18-9 at halftime.
Mason Kramer led the Wayne eighth graders with eight points. Other scoring came from Kash Haase (three), Colston Starzl and Remyngton Rager (both with two) as well as Liam Rockhill (one).
During the seventh grade loss, the Blue Devils fell behind 10-2 at half. Wayne battled back in the second with 17 points bringing the score within two. The second half was back and forth but Pierce ultimately pulled away at the end.
Louie Severson led the Wayne seventh graders with 18 points while Mason Wendte added 12 points. Other scoring came from Easton Nolte (five) and Merrick Miller (two).
In between the seventh and eighth grade games, a team of combined junior high participated in a live scrimmage against Pierce for a 15 minute running clock period. Wayne was victorious by a final score of 18-6.
Jacob Fehringer led the scoring effort with six points followed by Rhys Hanish with three points. Chase Rethwisch, Easton Gamble, Keaton Hall and Carson Heiser all chipped in two points while Dreu Jensen added one point.
