From Coleridge, Wayne seventh and eighth graders visited Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.
The Wayne seventh grade team participated in the first two quarters, giving the Blue Devils a 19-18 lead at half.
First half leaders were Hudson Willrich with seven points. Other scoring came from Mason Wendte (five), Louie Severson (four) and Merrick Miller (three).
The Wayne eighth graders took over for the second half and outscored LCC 16-7. Final favored Wayne Junior High winning 35-25.
Jacob Francis and Remyngton Rager led a balanced scoring effort with four points each in the final two quarters. Also scoring for the Blue Devil eighth graders were Liam Rockhill and Mason Kramer (three each) and Rhys Hanish (2).
Wayne also defeated LCC in a two-quarter “B” game comprised of both seventh and eighth grade players by a score of 11-10.
Easton Gamble knocked down three free throws to lead the team. Carson Heiser, Jacob Fehringer, Dreu Jensen and Logan Walling each chipped in two points apiece.
