Wayne junior high girls opens season with first place team finish

Junior High girls wrestling moved into their first week of competition.

From Plainview, the Wayne Junior High girls participated in the Plainview tournament on Saturday.

The Wayne Junior High girls were crowned champion of the Junior High Division with 139 points among their 11 wrestlers. There were 14 teams who received points.

Following Wayne in the Junior High Division was Norfolk JH in runner-up (124), Central City JH took third (119), Battle Creek JH placed fourth (96) and the host Plainview JH rounded out the top five teams with 87.5 points.

The Wayne Junior High girls were led by Reagan McManigal (128) and Alexandria Ziska (170) both in first place followed by runner-up results from Lucy Ocampo (114), Ayvree Abler (121) and Zoe Bolles (136). Pashynce Owens-Webb (100) took fourth.

Kyah Campbell (107), Lorelai Sorenson (121), Rose Kaup (128), Morgan Jeppesen (136) and Elena Tomaas Bacillo (145) were also in action.
