Wayne Junior High girls take fourth during home wrestling invite

Following an 11-day break from action, the Wayne Junior High girls wrestlers were back on the mat.

From the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gymnasium, the Wayne seventh and eighth graders hosted the Wayne JH Invite with 13 teams scoring points on Friday.

The Wayne JH girls finished fourth with 172.5 points among their 13 wrestlers.

Norfolk Junior High won the JH girls invite with 299 points, Lakeview JH followed in runner-up with 204 points, South Sioux City middle school placed third with 179 points, Wayne took fourth (172.5) as O’Neill JH rounded out the top five teas with 149 points.

Wayne Junior High leaders were champions of Lucy Ocampo (111-118), Zoe Bolles (132-135), Saoirse Fitzgerald (150-161) and Alexandria Ziska (155-171) while Sarah Kuchta (65-79), Kyah Campbell (114-117), Lorelai Sorensen (117-122), Ayvree Abler (120-125), Reagan McManigal (125-137) and Elena Tomas Bacillo (140) all placed runner-up.

Pashynce Owens-Webb (98-107) and Morgan Jeppesen (134-136) both took third as Rose Kaup (119-123) followed in fourth.
