Earlier this month Wayne Junior High Principal Dave Wragge was called out of his office to assist with "an incident" in the school's gym.
When he got to the gym, the lights were out and the gym was quiet. He became suspicious of the reason for this. As the lights came on, all the seventh and eighth grade students began shouting congratulations to their principal.
Wragge has been selected as the Nebraska State Association of Secondary Principals Middle Level Region 3 Principal of the year.
The overall state winner will be announced at a later date.
