The Wayne American Legion Juniors improved to 2-0 on the young summer season with an 11-1 win over Battle Creek in action Friday at Hank Overin Field.
Wayne cranked out nine hits in the win, three coming from Tyler Lutt, who also threw the complete-game win with nine strikeouts and five hits in five innings of work.
Zane Jackson had a pair of hits, including a double, and Lutt, Jackson, Justin Dean, Adam Bentjen and Edgar Ficke-Anderson all had RBI hits in the win.
A doubleheader with Omaha Central and West Point on Saturday was called due to rain. Wayne plays at Wakefield on Wednesday.
