Wayne, LCC girls golf in action

With the Wayne Country Club set to host several high school  girls golf teams on August 29, Wayne High and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge were joined by Cedar Catholic during the week.

From the Wayne Country Club on August 26, LCC was the only team with a full team during the triangular.

The Bears won the event shooting a team score of 215. 

Individually, Wayne's Hallie Heithold was the low medalist shooting a 50. Rylynn Owen was the only other varsity score for Wayne shooting a 55.  Carli Canham was ill.

LCC leaders were  Holly Patefield (53), Kennedy Hall (53), Alyza Leonard (54), Harper Bruning (55) and Stella Kock (59).

JV scores came from Danica Gould (53) and Mavis Jonas (63).

In modified JV scoring, Wayne had three golfers led by Gracyn Johnson (53), Avery Gubbels (67) and Damaris Reyes Esparza (68). 

Wayne will be back in action Friday (9 a.m.) for the Wayne Invite at the Wayne Country Club.

The Blue Devils will also welcome Battle Creek and Elkhorn Valley on Tuesday, September 2 at 4 p.m. for a triangular at the Wayne Country Club.

"It was great to be back home and playing some golf," said Wayne girls golf coach Josh Johnson. "The girls really had a good time out there and did some really nice things. We will be able to build on those things."
