Over 60 girls high school golfers from 16 teams were represented during the Wayne Invite held on August 29 at the Wayne Country Club.
The host Blue Devils girls had three golfers medal individually in competition but were not able to post a team score due to illness from other golfers.
Carli Canham led the way for Wayne with a fifth place 89, followed by Hallie Heithold in 13th shooting a 100 as Rylynn Owen rounded out the Blue Devils scoring with a personal-best 106 (19th).
Battle Creek held off Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the team race with a 404 (LCC - 409).
Pierce's Rylee Altwine shot a new meet record score two over PAR 74 to take top medal honors.
LCC was led by an eighth place medal from Holly Patefield who shot a 95, Harper Bruning took 11th (99) and Alyza Leonard placed 16th (104).
Other results for the Bears came from Danica Gould (25th - 111) and Kennedy Hall (29th - 117) while LCC JV results were posted by Setlla Kock (34th - 120), Mavis Jonas (37th - 122) and Tanya Miranda (47th - 134).
The lone Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) golfer was Emily Stamm who finished 48th with a 139.
A third straight home contest is next from the Wayne Country Club for Wayne High girls golf. The Blue Devils will host Battle Creek and Elkhorn Valley on Tuesday, September 2 starting 4 p.m. WHS will then will travel to the Stanton Invite on Thursday September 4 starting at 9 am.
"I was extremely happy with how the scores finished out for us," said Wayne High coach Josh Johnson. "All three girls did some good things throughout the day. Each girl had some "leaky" holes that we need to clean up but overall I was very pleased. I am super happy for Rylynn who shot her personal best and earned herself a medal in a very deep field."
Both LCC and Tri County Northeast will next compete in the Stanton Invite on September 4 from Elkhorn Acres Golf Course.
