A second straight night of American Legion baseball showcased Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Wayne in a doubleheader against Ponca Post 117.
From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, the Post 43 Seniors won 10-0 as the Post 43 Juniors took control early during a 17-0 win. Both teams are now 2-0 following their May 29 outing.
In the Seniors contest, Wayne secured runs of one in the first, three in the second, one in the third and five more runs in the fifth. Post 43 finished with six hits.
Gavin Redden doubled, drove in two runs and scored as Kaleb Moormeier doubled, drove in a run and scored.
Hayden Kelley singled and drove in two runs; Drew Reinhardt singled and drove in a run; Adrian Contreras singled and scored twice; Gavin Anderson singled and scored; Jaxson Kneifl scored three times and walked three times as Ethan Synovec scored.
Redden (61 pitches) picked up the complete game shutout victory in five innings allowing two hits while striking out nine batters.
During the Juniors outing, Wayne plated 13 runs in the first inning followed by a four-run second. Post 43 also had 14 hits.
Blade Nelson singled, doubled, drove in four runs and scored; Chase Nelson doubled, drove in three runs and scored as Jaxson Kneifl doubled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Brodey Munter and Easton Endicott both singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice; Chase Sturm singled twice, drove in three runs and scored three times as William Patefield singled twice, drove in a run and scored three times.
James Birkel singled and scored twice; Aiden Peterson singled as Spencer Moormeier scored.
Reece Ames (38 pitches) picked up the complete game shutout win in three innings allowing one hit while striking out three batters and walking one.
