From dropping a pair of heartbreaking one-run losses to beginning a new week on a positive note, the Blue Devil softball is five games into their season.
Year 2026 Wayne softball showcased new leadership with Kiley Koch taking over the reigns as a first-year head coach after serving the previous eight seasons as an assistant.
The Blue Devils first suffered a 5-4 loss at Blair on Aug. 20 before going 2-1 in their home tourney on Aug. 22 finishing runner-up falling 4-3 against Centura/Central Valley.
Back at the home complex on Aug. 25, Wayne High recently secured a 16-4 win in three innings over O'Neill to begin the year 3-2.
The Wayne High softball team will next host Tekamah-Herman on Aug. 27 before welcoming Bishop Neumann on Sept. 1.
