Tri County League youth baseball began for the Wayne Ponies in mid-May.
From the Summer Sports Complex, Wayne played host to Schuyler on May 15.
Wayne utilized 17-runs in the first inning en route to a 20-1 victory beginning their season at 1-0.
Kash Haase singled three times, drove in two runs and scored three times; Liam Rockhill doubled twice and scored twice; Merrick Miller singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice as Remyngton Rager doubled, drove in two runs and scored.
Noah Magnuson singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Brayden Stegemann singled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Easton Gamble singled, drove in two runs and scored; Kian Pick singled, drove in a run and scored; Evan Greve singled and scored twice; Dreu Jensen and Blake Heithold both singled and drove in a run; Mason Wendte singled and scored as Colston Starzl scored twice.
Wendte (46 pitches) picked up the win in two innings allowing one run off one hit while striking out five batters and walking one. Heithold (12) worked two thirds of an inning allowing one hit.
