A second straight game with double figure run production and fourth of the season was posted over the weekend by the Wayne Pony youth baseball team.
From Dodge, Wayne's 14 and under Tri County League baseball team visited Howells-Dodge on June 1.
Thanks to a nine-run second inning, Wayne picked up a 15-7 victory to improve to 6-0-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
During the road victory for Wayne, Noah Magnuson singled twice, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Mason Wendte doubled twice, drove in three runs and scored twice as Kash Haase singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice. Remyngton Rager doubled, drove in a run and scored.
Merrick Miller singled and scored three times; Kian Pick and Brayden Stegemann both singled, drove in a run and scored; Easton Gamble singled and drove in a run; Evan Greve singled and scored as Colston Starzl scored twice.
Starzl (83 pitches) started the opening three and two-thirds allowing five earned runs off four hits while striking out six batters, walking three and hitting two.
Magnuson (19) worked a third of an inning allowing two runs (one earned) off two hits while striking out and walking one batter each. Miller (29) closed out the final two innings allowing one hit while striking out one batter and walking two.
Upcoming for the Wayne Ponies will be a home contest against North Bend on Thursday, June 5 and at Tekamah-Herman Gold on Sunday, June 8.
