Wayne Post 43 Seniors go 2-0 over weekend

Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 began the first-ever Class B Senior American Legion baseball Divisional Tournament with back-to-back wins.

From Minden, Post 43 started with a 3-0 win over York followed by a 17-3 victory against Alliance August 2 - 3. Wayne is now 24-2 on the season and in action against Lincoln Christian on August 4. The game was slated to start at 7 p.m.

Leaders from game one: Jaxson Kneifl doubled while singles were posted by Gavin Redden, Drew Reinhardt, Hayden Kelley and Adrian Contreras. Redden drove in the lone run while single runs came from Kneifl, Redden and Reinhardt.

Synovec (80 pitches) picked up the win in five and two-thirds allowing one hit while striking out eight batters and walking two. Gavin Anderson (18) earned the save in the final inning allowing one hit while striking out and walking one batter.

During the second game: Synovec singled three times while Kaleb Moormeier and Kelley both singled and doubled as Reinhardt and Kneifl also doubled. Kaleb Moormeier and Synovec both drove in a team-high three runs as Reinhardt and Kaleb Moormeier both crossed the plate three times. 

Redden (43 pitches) picked up the win in three and a third innings allowing three earned runs off five hits while striking out two batters and hitting one. Brodrick Tiedtke (25) closed out the final inning and a third walking three batters.
