Wayne runners bring home two medals from Scotus

Wayne picked up a pair of individual medals during Thursday’s run of the Scotus Invitational in Columbus.

Andrea Torres and Gabi Meyer led the way for the Blue Devil girls. Torres was third overall in a time of 21:24, while Meyer came home in 13th place with a time of 22:54.

Molly Hoskins finished just outside the top 20, placing 21st in 23:57, followed by Sarah Greenwald (46th, 25:28), Emily Chamberlain (47th, 25:38), Andi Belt (58th, 26:43) and Madison Jenkins (70th, 29:34). The Wayne girls finished fifth overall with 79 points.

In boys action, Christopher Woerdemann was the leader for the Blue Devils, finishing 30th in 19:49. Other Wayne runners included Brandon Wacker (60th, 21:35), Liam Spieker (66th, 21:53), Treyton Blecke (67th, 21:54), Cole Hobza (94th, 23:31), Lance Muhs (115th, 24:48) and Stuart Hasemann (132nd, 26:54). Wayne finished 10th out of 14 teams with 192 points.

Wayne will run in the Crofton Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 21.
