Wayne Seniors draw Lincoln Christian to open American Division

A rematch from two weeks ago on the same field will now have more on the line for Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43.

Buffalo Park in Springfield will be the host site for the Class B Senior American Legion, American Division Tournament with games being held August 1-5.

The winner of this double elimination, eight team bracket will host the National Division winner (being played in Central City) on August 8 for the Class B Junior Playoff final.

Rolling Hills Supply enters with a 23-7 record after going 3-2 during the Class B Area 5 tourney suffering a 6-0 loss to Central City on July 28 in O'Neill.

Class B Area 5 runner-up, Wayne Post 43 will compete against Area 2 champion Lincoln Christian (Nemaha Sports Construction Post 500) at 6 p.m. on August 1.

These two teams met on July 17 during the Springfield Invite where Wayne scored in the bottom of the first before giving up seven runs the remainder of the game, falling 7-1. It was their only loss on the weekend.

First round action on Saturday begins at noon with Area 7 runner-up Alliance vs. Area 3 champion Mount Michael followed by Area 1 runner-up Crete vs. Area 6 champion McCook at 3 p.m.

The night cap will be the host Springfield (finished runner-up in Area 2) taking on the Area 4 champion Seward at 9 p.m.

Day two (Sunday) will begin with a pair of elimination games for the loser of Alliance/Mount Michael against the loser of Crete/McCook at 11 a.m. followed by the loser of Lincoln Christian/Wayne vs. the loser of Springfield/Seward at 2 p.m.

The winners will compete at 5/8 p.m.
