Wayne Seniors drop regular season finale at Blair, open Area 5 Friday

BLAIR – Following an 11-day break, the Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Wayne Seniors played one final regular season game ahead of postseason competition.

From Veterans Memorial Field in Blair, Wayne visited Blair Monday night.

Blair posted a four-run inning early and held onto the 5-0 victory. Rolling Hills Supply Seniors had their 15-game winning streak snapped falling to 21-2.

After neither team scored the opening three and a half innings, Blair put up four runs in the home half of the third.

Following a scoreless fourth, Blair added one more run in the fifth.

Final favored Blair winning 5-0 and outhitting Post 43, 10-2.

Jaxson Kneifl and Gavin Redden both singled.

Aiden Liston (45 pitches) suffered the loss in two and a third innings allowing four earned runs off seven hits while striking out one batter. Gavin Redden (43) worked two and two-thirds allowing an earned run off two hits while striking out and walking one batter each.

Wyatt Heikes (16) closed out the final inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters.

The Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Wayne Seniors will open the Class B Area 5 Tournament in West Point on Friday, July 26. #1 Wayne will play game one at 2:30 p.m. against #6 O’Neill Friday afternoon.
