Wayne State College welcomed 803 new freshmen this fall, an increase of 6.6 percent over last year and the second-largest freshman class in more than 50 years. Graduate students also grew to 550, a 2.8 percent increase over last year.
Additionally, as Wayne State continues to work with adult learners, the College is excited about the students who have decided to return to Wayne State to complete their degree.
Student demographics from 2025 show that 45 percent of Wayne State students are the first in their family to pursue a bachelor’s degree, 41 percent are low-income, 18 percent are nontraditional and 5.4 percent are international students.
