Wayne State slipped one spot to No. 8 in the final NCAA Div. II Central Region volleyball rankings released Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA office in Indianapolis, Ind. The Central Region consists of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, Great American Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
The Wildcats, ranked eighth in this week’s AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, are 23-6 overall and 21-6 in games played within the Central Region. The top six teams remained the same in the poll with Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota Duluth and Southwest Minnesota State from the NSIC ranked first, second and third. Nebraska-Kearney from the MIAA is fourth with Winona State and Augustana from the NSIC fifth and sixth. Washburn moved up from ninth to seventh while WSC slipped one spot to eighth. Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri round out the top 10 teams.
