The Wayne State College Foundation has announced the launch of a new initiative – the 10 Under 10 Young Alumni Awards, which are awarded in conjunction with Wayne State College’s time-honored Outstanding Alumni Awards.
These awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Wayne State alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities and professions.
For the 10 Under 10 Young Alumni Awards, the Wayne State Foundation is seeking nominations for alumni who are an emerging leader making significant contributions by living out their calling, engaged in the local or global community through professional and/or volunteer involvement, serving as an outstanding young role model for current and future students and alumni, and an alumni member within 10 years of their graduation.
Nominations for Outstanding Alumni Awards are for individuals who have achieved exceptional accomplishments in their chosen field, engaged in the local or global community through professional and/or volunteer involvement, exhibited exceptional service in support of the advancement and continued excellence of Wayne State College, and demonstrated leadership and innovation.
“These awards allow us to honor and showcase the remarkable accomplishments of our alumni, while also inspiring current students to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in the world,” said Amber Sperry, director of alumni relations for the Wayne State Foundation.
All awards will be presented during the college’s Homecoming celebration in the fall. Ten alumni will receive 10 Under 10 Young Alumni Awards, and Outstanding Alumni Awards will be presented to one alumni member from each of Wayne State’s four different schools – the School of Arts and Humanities, the School of Business and Technology, the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, and the School of Science, Health, and Criminal Justice.
“This special occasion will serve as a fitting platform to recognize the exceptional talent within our alumni community and celebrate their contributions to Wayne State College,” added Sperry.
