Wayne State College will host its Festival of Honor Bands on Saturday, Jan. 25. The concert finale takes place at 4:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre, located in the Peterson Fine Arts Building. Admission is $5.
Each year, the Wayne State Department of Music hosts this all-day festival for junior high and high school students from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Students must audition to participate.
Throughout the day, students learn and rehearse with one of three clinicians.
This year’s clinicians are Carrie Jensen, band teacher at Norfolk Junior High School; Nathan LeFeber, band teacher at Kearney High School; and Dr. Josh Calkin, director of bands at Wayne State.
