Wayne State rugby player named All-American

Mary McKulsky, a junior at Wayne State College, was named the 2025 All American rugby player award.

McKulsky is a member of the 2025 Prairie States All-Star team. This team is made up of 12 girls from USD, SDSU, Wayne State and SMSU

They recently traveled to Silverbacks Park, Atlanta, Georgia where they competed in 7s Rugby competition.

They earned a 3-2 record in Rising Stars division and pllayed against Cascade, Allegheny, Ohio Valley, Rugby Northeast, and Great Lakes

McKulsky personally scored two tries in last game of tournament (10 points). The team placed ninth, due to losing first two consolation games

Members of the WSC group (there were five players who traveled to Georgia) scored 30 points among three that scored.

"I had no clue that I had been nominated for All American until Coach Bryn told me the list came out and I was on it. It was honestly very unexpected, but I am very grateful and hope to push myself next season. Growing with my team the past few years has been a journey but I am very thankful for every opportunity. I am proud to represent Wayne State and believe that every member of the team should be proud of themselves," McKulsky said. 

She is from Papillion and attended Papillon LaVista High School.
