Wayne State runners compete in regional meet

Antoine Bardou and Andrea DeSimone were the leading runners for Wayne State during the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Championships held Saturday at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls. S.D.
Bardou covered the 10,000-meter course in a time of 32:44 to finish 53rd out of 170 runners in the meet and lead Wayne State to a 23rd place finish.  Corbin Lehn was the next finisher for the Wildcats at 35:26 and 145th overall. Other Wayne State runners included Isaias Solorio (35:59, 153rd), Noah Noecker (36:42, 161st) and Kak Ayaj (36:57, 162nd).
DeSimone was Wayne State’s top runner for the Wayne State women, finishing 123rd out of 211 runners in 23:44 as Wayne State finished 31st in the women’s team race. Jamie Larsen followed in 176th place at 25:10.  Other Wildcat runners included Alexis Oswald (184th, 25:40), Josephine Peitz (204th, 27:14) and Sarah Post (210th, 31:40).
