Concordia-St. Paul scored in the first minute of overtime to come from behind and defeat Wayne State 2-1 in women’s soccer action Sunday in St. Paul, Minn.

Wayne State scored less than five minutes into the game to take an early 1-0 lead. Hannah Knight scored off a cross from Alexis Strothers, marking Knight’s second goal of the season.

The score stayed that way until midway through the second half when the Golden Bears got the equalizer in the 68th minute as Brooke Salo found the top right of the net off a pass from Jordan Rowan-Stafford.

Wayne State had a chance to win the game late after earning a corner kick with 10 seconds left in regulation, but could not find the back of the net.

In overtime, Concordia-St. Paul wasted no time as Kiara Myers slipped past the Wildcat defenders and scored the game-winner 33 seconds into the period to complete the comeback.

Hannah Knight led Wayne State with the lone goal for the Wildcats. Rylie Wehner added two shots and one shot on goal while five other Wildcats each had one shot in the contest. Rachel Grisham was credited with two saves in goal.

Wayne State (3-5-4, 2-4-3 NSIC) will be on the road again next weekend for Northern Sun Conference games at Bemidji State Saturday at 1 p.m. and Minnesota Crookston Sunday at 1 p.m.
