Wayne State College service-learning business students are holding a Winter Gear Drive through Friday, Nov. 17, to collect gently used winter clothing for those who may not have the means to stay warm during the winter season.

Gear of all sizes, for adults and children, will be accepted. The main initiative is to collect gently used and new coats, new hats, mittens, and scarves.

Donation bins can be found in these locations on the Wayne State campus: Hahn Building mailroom, U.S. Conn Library (second floor, IRC area), Student Center (Career Services Office), Recreation Center main office, Rice Auditorium main lobby, and the Campus Services Building (facilities breakroom).

For donations at the Wildcat volleyball game at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, those donating a new coat, hat, or mittens will receive a free bag of popcorn.

Donations will be divided among the First Presbyterian Coat Closet, the Wayne Head Start Program, Micah’s Closet, and the Wayne State Food Pantry.
