The Wayne State volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 8 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. II Top 25 coaches’ poll. It is the 97th straight national ranking for the Wildcats, dating back to Sept. 28, 2009.
The Northern Sun Conference has six of the top eight and seven of the top 13 teams in the country while the NCAA Central Region features eight of the top nine and 12 of the top 16 in NCAA Division II.
The Wildcats went 2-1 last week, beating then-No. 8 Augustana 3-1 and St. Cloud State 3-0 while falling to top-ranked Minnesota Duluth 3-1.
Wayne State is on the road this weekend with NSIC matches at Minnesota Crookston Friday at 6 p.m. and Bemidji State Saturday at 4 p.m.
