The Wayne High girls took runner-up honors and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge finished fourth in the Wisner-Pilger September Classic volleyball tournament, held Saturday at Wisner-Pilger High School.
The Blue Devils swept Humphrey St. Francis 25-17, 25-16 and LCC 25-18, 25-11 before losing an exciting three-set match to Chambers/Wheeler Central, 25-21, 15-25, 28-26.
The Lady Bears opened with a three-set win over Homer, 25-14, 24-26, 25-13, and followed the Wayne loss with a three-set loss to Wisner-Pilger in the third-place match, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22.
