The Wayne High golf team opened its season Thursday with a quadrangular at Indian Hills Golf Club in Beemer.
The Blue Devils varsity shot a 186 to finish behind Oakland-Craig (173) and West Point-Beemer/Scribner-Snyder (185) and ahead of Pender (279).
Peyton Dewald led the way for Wayne with a 45. Three Blue Devils followed DeWald, as Tanner Walling, Jonah Brodersen and Zach Urbanec each shot a 47. Shea Sweetland finished with a 48.
The Wayne JV team shot a 223, with Drew Sharpe’s 51 leading the way. Jasper Hank had a 54, Matt Navrkal shot 58 and Nolan Hunke and Collin McAllister each shot 60.
