Wayne High came away with consolation honors and LCC finished sixth in the Wisner-Pilger Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday.
The Blue Devils opened with a 25-23, 25-16 win over Pierce before falling to eventual champion Humphrey St. Francis 25-20, 20-25, 25-19 in the semifinals. Wayne finished the day with a three-set win over Chambers/Wheeler Central, winning 25-20, 23-25, 25-16.
LCC opened with a 25-13, 25-21 loss to Chambers/Wheeler Central, but bounced back for a 25-19, 25-27, 25-18 win over Homer. In the fifth-place match, they fell to Pierce in two sets, 25-23, 25-14.
