The Nebraska School Activities Association officially released pairings Tuesday morning for the C-5 district softball tournament, which will be held at the Summer Sports Complex in Wayne Thursday and Friday.
Wayne top seed, host for C-5 softball district
The top-ranked Wayne High softball team will take its 27-0 record into the C-5 district tournament as the top seed in the seven-team, double-elimination tournament. Wayne will have a first-round bye and will face the winner of the O'Neill vs. Highway 91 game at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The winner of the tournament qualifies for next week’s Nebraska State Softball Championships that start Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings.
