Wayne Tourney teams to travel to Wakefield

All three youth baseball tournament teams will make their way to Graves Park in Wakefield for the 38th annual 'Lefty' Olson Mid-Summer Classic between June 20 - 22.

*records through June 15.

Wayne Ponies (12-1-1) , Wayne Bronco Tournament team (3-1) and Wayne Didget Tournament team (0-3) will all play on Friday.

A change on the tournament website was made shortly after the June 19 Wayne Herald went out for print. Games to the Pony Division (14u) were the only ones updated due to a team not able to play.

In the Pony Division from Eaton Field (Legion Field), Wayne will now open against the Warrior Baseball Club on Saturday at 11 a.m. and play one more game at either 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. also Saturday depending a win or a loss. (previously Wayne was scheduled to face the West Point Beavers on Friday and Logan View on Saturday until changes were made.

Wakefield's Pony team will now compete against the West Point Beavers on Friday at 3 p.m. and play at either 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. on Saturday depending with a win or a loss (previously scheduled to compete against the Nebraska Prospects Friday night and Warrior Baseball Club on Saturday until changes were made).

During the Bronco Division on the Little League Field (northeast), Wayne will close out Friday night against Vermillion at 8 p.m. and also face Pierce Blue at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Wakefield's Bronco team will open Friday at 4 p.m. against Norfolk Steel and also play Saturday at 9 a.m. against the DC Royals.

From the Didget Division on the Pee Wee Field (Northwest), Wayne will close out Friday night against Logan View at 5 p.m. and open Saturday at 8:30 a.m. against Bancroft.

Wakefield's Didget team will start Friday at 2 p.m. with Pierce White before taking on West Monona at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Additional games will be played on Sunday for the all three divisions while a Coach Pitch (8u) division will also showcase games on Friday and Saturday in Wakefield.
