Both the Wayne High boys and girls track teams finished as runner-up in the Blue Devil Invitational, held Thursday at the Kern Track.
Wayne High came away with three wins on the boys side and six in the girls competition during the six-school meet that was rescheduled due to Tuesday’s snow.
In boys action, Jack Evetovich (high jump) Kaden Kneifl (shot put) and Mason Lee (long jump) were all winners. Wakefield’s Solomon Peitz also came through with a win in the triple jump.
Kylie Hammer had a hand in four wins to highlight the area girls effort. She claimed to phonors in the long jump and triple jump in field action, and won the 100 and 400 on the track. Gabi Meyer also had multiple wins, taking the 800-meter run and anchoring the 3,200-meter relay win along with Frankie Klausen, Molly Hoskins and Sarah Greenwald.
